Macro mais legal que consegui com o 5530.Ever since I switched my newsletter from snail mail to email back in 1999, I’ve been learning more and more about cyberspace. I’ve had a website in some form or another for over a decade. This past year, I decided to close down my email newsletter in  an effort to focus more on writing this blog.

The blogosphere is a busy segment of cyberspace, sometimes I get lost in the vastness of it all. Loads and loads of food/ health/ parenting/ environmental themed blogs, I read too much and end up writing too little.  This is further complicated by the double life I lead: in addition to DrSusanRubin.com, I’m also busy writing on  www.BetterSchoolFood.org and sometimes www.SlowFoodWestchester.org. blogs along with occasional guest posts on other blogs.

This month, I’m involved with a Blog Carnival and a Twitter Party. A blog carnival  is an event. It is similar to a magazine, in that it is dedicated to a particular topic. Each edition of a blog carnival is in the form of a blog article that contains  links to other blog articles on the particular topic. The theme of the blog carnival is Childhood Obesity, it was created by the blogger who writes at Little Stomaks. He’s a dad of twin toddlers. You’ll find my post in the Childhood Obesity Blog Carnival on the Better School Food Blog, at the bottom of my blog post, you find links to all the other posts in the blog carnival.

I’m still trying to figure out what the Twitter Party is all about. The Holistic Moms Network is hosting it, the theme will be school food advocacy. I’ve got two different Twitter names, one is DrSuRu, the other is BetterScholFood . I have to admit I’m still learning my way around Twitter. The Twitter Party is set for September 21st at 10pm EST. If you go to Twitter and type in #holisticmoms, you can follow along.

Last but not least, I’m participating in FoodBuzz‘s Project Food Blog. Food Buzz is a community of food blogs, tens of thousands of them. This is one reason I end up reading more than blogging sometimes.  Project Food Blog is an interactive competition where thousands of Foodbuzz Featured Publishers are compete in a series of culinary blogging challenges for the chance to advance and a shot at the ultimate prize: $10,000 and a special feature on Foodbuzz.com for one year. I’m really just doing it so I will blog more and read less!
